In support of our growing Indonesian business we are currently seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the following positions:
Senior Geophysicist (Code: SGP)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly capable senior geophysicist to work in the Exploration Team in Santos Jakarta office. As the senior geophysicist in Santos Indonesia you will have responsibility for technical leadership of all geophysical work.
This is a wide ranging role; a key focus will be on evaluation of new ventures opportunities in support of Santos growth in Indonesia goal. You will also be responsible for geophysical interpretation and play and prospect evaluations within Santos existing acreage, and will coordinate any seismic acquisition or (re)processing projects within Indonesia.
Naturally you will be a self-starter, and have sufficient depth and breadth of experience to be able to provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior staff.
Experience & Attributes:
- University degree in Geoscience.
- A minimum of 8 years relevant experience with an operating company.
- Excellent geophysics core technical skills (2D/3D seismic interpretation, well tie analysis, depth conversion, attribute analysis, play and prospect evaluation, etc).
- Experienced user of industry standard geophysical interpretation software.
- Previous experience of New Ventures evaluations.
- Excellent communications skills (fluent spoken and written English).
- Team player with ability to mentor junior staff.
