IFC is pursuing a dynamic growth strategy with a particular focus on expanding its infrastructure investments in East Asia & Pacific. To strengthen its business development capabilities in Indonesia, the Corporation is seeking to recruit an Associate Investment Officer to join the Indonesia country team, initially on a two-year basis. As part of the regional team, as well as the Indonesia country team, the Associate Investment Officer will provide business development and transaction support to maximize IFC s developmental impact in project financing and to contribute to the overall private sector development in Indonesia. Working closely with infrastructure colleagues in Headquarters in Washington, D.C., as well as with regional team, he/she will establish strong relationships with the business community and government; gather and disseminate market intelligence; identify business opportunities and appraise investment proposals; evaluate and analyze the attractiveness of potential investments; participate in the structuring and negotiation of deals; supervise portfolio projects and contribute to country and regional strategy formulation.
Duties and Accountabilities:
- Promote IFC s business development efforts through company/sector research and analysis of new investment opportunities;
- Analyze and appraise all aspects of new investment proposals (debt and/or equity) including financial, operational, commercial, legal, corporate governance, and environmental and social sustainability elements; and prepare investment recommendations where appropriate;
- Review and analyze periodic financial statements and other relevant information submitted by clients;
- Monitor operational and financial performance of client companies to evaluate risk and recommend proactive measures; and
- Foster teamwork with colleagues in the region and other offices.
Selection Criteria:
- MBA;
- Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in financial institutions, focusing both on business development and relationship management, preferably in infrastructure;
- Strong analytical and credit assessment skills, and sound knowledge of loan/investment documentation, accounting, financial statement analysis and financial modeling;
- Ability to multi-task, deal with conflicting priorities and deliver high quality work on schedule;
- Sound business judgment and problem solving, negotiation and commercial skills;
- Ability to interact directly and independently with the management of potential clients and of financial and technical partners;
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to interact effectively with clients and colleagues from various cultural backgrounds;
- Genuine commitment to sustainable development; and
- Strong teamwork and excellent English oral and written, communication and presentation skills.
