NATIONAL CONSULTANT – UNJSP-DRR DATA MANAGEMENT
Scope of work Expected Results/Deliverables/Final Products Expected
- Updating and enhancing the existing 3W (who-what-where) convergence group database to better reflect project activities according to HFA Key Activities;
- Verify sources and ensure data accuracy through desk reviews and/or through direct interactions and discussion with respective UN/NGO/Donor participants;
- Design the posting of the directory into UNTWG-DRR website to be interactive to enable direct updating by the respective UN/NGO/Donor participants;
- Provide technical support in the adoption and implementation of the database programme including converging the above products into the GOI?s Strategic National Action Plan on Disaster Risk Reduction;
- Assist in the collection and management of data entry and the use of standardized systems to support humanitarian operations. These standardized databases include: Who Does What Where, Contacts Directory, and Field Document Management System (FiDMS);
- Support the UNJSP-DRR in establishing information systems capable of supporting humanitarian coordination and beyond to also support early recovery and longer term disaster risk reduction requirements;
- Provision of analytical services based on the existing 3W (who-what-where) convergence group database; and
- Any other relevant duties as required by the supervisor.
Recruitment Qualifications
Education:
Minimum a Bachelor degree in Information Management, Computer Science or other relevant field of study.
Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years professional experience. Candidates with less experience or education than this may be offered the position at a grade lower than that indicated for the post.
- Practical experience in data management including experience with Microsoft Access and Excel;
- Experience in areas of data collection, entry and maintenance;
- Knowledge and demonstrated experience in programming languages, various database software, and GIS software.
- Previous experience in the humanitarian sector and UN Agency(ies) is essential.
Language Requirements:
- Fluency in the UN and national language of the duty station.
