Vacancy: BB 4 – IT Manager

Applications are invited for the above position at the Australian Embassy, Jakarta. The position is a full time position with an immediate commencement date required.

The duties of the position and selection criteria are listed below. The successful applicant will meet the selection criteria as detailed in the attached. A monthly salary of IDR.11,480,056 will be offered to the successful applicant.

Duty Number

  1. Supervise and monitor all aspects of the operation of the LAN including software and hardware, servers and mail routing system. Supervise and manage two staff members in the IT section.
  2. Administer SATIN (Secure Australian Telecommunications and Information Network) update installation, security access management and associated programs in Jakarta.
  3. Liaise with SATIN Helpdesk in Canberra and other Posts to solve problems.
  4. Liaise with local IT suppliers and vendors to the find best IT solution in network technology infrastructure, software and hardware with effective cost arrangement.
  5. Give consultation to users for any IT infrastructure standard and updates on IT project implementation.
  6. Provide initial basic training on the SATIN Network and associated applications to users as necessary.
  7. Provide IT services (including office set up and equipment logistics) for Ministerial and other Senior visits in Jakarta and other centres in Indonesia as required.

All duties are carried out with due regard to the requirements and expectations of the Service Level Agreement and local IT support Contracts

Qualifications: IT systems infrastructure knowledge, Microsoft Windows 2003 / XP Certificate desirable / Microsoft Windows 2003 / XP training courses essential, Lotus Notes Administration, Microsoft Office.

Selection Criteria

  1. Good communication skills, including a high standard of written and spoken English.
  2. Demonstrated ability to administer Microsoft network environment. Microsoft network certification highly desirable.
  3. Familiarity with the Lotus Notes or similar e-mail application.
  4. Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite applications, including Microsoft Access.
  5. Ability to work independently, set priorities, and to meet deadlines.
  6. Experience to manage IT section with at least two subordinates
  7. Good knowledge on IT helpdesk management

Addressing the Selection Criteria

  1. Outline your skills and abilities that relate to the criterion you are addressing.
  2. Do not simply address the criterion by saying that you possess the required skills but highlight your skills, experiences and achievements. Describe how you utilize these skills and provide examples.
