VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
The Overseas Building Operation Office of the U.S. Embassy in Jakarta has vacancies for:
1. FSN-81/2011 Mechanical Engineer, FSN-10* (Rp. 187,271,861 p.a. full performance starting salary) Fixed Term: 2-7 years or upon completion of the LSS and CSS projects.
2. FSN-82/2011 Electrical Engineer, FSN-10* (Rp. 187,271,861 p.a. full performance starting salary) Fixed Term: 2-7 years or upon completion of the LSS and CSS projects.
Basic Function of the Position:
The incumbent shall be directly responsible to the OBO Project Director and provides construction management and engineering services in support of three multi-million dollar construction contracts. The services include electrical, telecom, technical security, fire/life safety and mechanical for the planning, design, construction, and inspection of the Leased Swing Space (LSS), Compound Swing Space (CSS) %elects. The incumbent will Inspect construction, review plans, recommend approval f shop drawings and submittals, maintain a daily log of construction activities, and develop change orders including preparing cost estimates, and other construction engineering duties related to the construction of the projects. S/He will maintain a quality insurance program and inspect all construction activities within his/her areas of expertise. S/He shall be capable of working independently and shall provide professional engineering services. Overtime and weekend work will be occasionally required.
Qualification required:
All applicants must address each selection criterion detailed below with specific and comprehensive information supporting each item.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering is required. (1) Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering is required. (2)
- Ten years experience in construction of mechanical and/or electrical systems in buildings is required, at any level. This could include work as a project engineer or project manager.
- Level 4 (fluent) in speaking/reading/writing both in English and Bahasa Indonesia are required. Language proficiency will be tested.
- Must have detailed knowledge of the construction industry, modern engineering principles, technical systems and there appropriate uses under varying circumstances and conditions. Must have detailed knowledge of electrical building systems and construction methods. Advanced knowledge of construction codes and practices is required. Must be able to read plans and specifications. Knowledge of building codes is required.
- Advanced knowledge of software application for 2D and 3-D design and drafting. Ability to use a computer forward processing, spreadsheets, and other applications is required.
